A diploma from the Massage Therapy program from Medix School’s Scarborough campus in 2010 has provided me with a thorough knowledge of Regional Anatomy, Massage Theory and Techniques, Orthopaedic Assessments, Anatomy and Physiology, Hydrotherapy, Neurophysiology, Pathology, and the physiology of all the human body systems.

I am registered with the College of Massage Therapy of Ontario (CMTO) and am also a member of the Registered Massage Therapy Association of Ontario (RMTAO).

I have recently been trained in Hot Stone Therapy and am always interested in furthering my knowledge and training in such areas as Reflexology, Acupressure, Aromatherapy, to name just a few modalities.

My goal as a Massage Therapist is to not only provide natural and affordable healthcare to my clients but to also provide the tools and knowledge required by my clients to enhance and quicken their own recovery.  Whether you have been injured and are in need of rehabilitation or you are just looking for a way to help relax, I can help.

Lesley graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1983 and is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC), and is a member of the Ontario Massage Therapist Association (OMTA). In addition to a providing therapy for clientele, Lesley enjoys teaching workshops and volunteering her time and skills to a variety of sports and charitable events.

She is trained and experienced in many applications of Massage Therapy including therapeutic, relaxation, sports, rehabilitation, deep tissue, pregnancy, reflexology, and hot stone. Lesley brings a well-rounded knowledge of client care to serve clients of Harwood Chiropractic & Massage Centre with experience gained from work in a variety of settings such as massage therapy clinics, chiropractic clinics, health and fitness clubs, spas, private practice and in the Kikkawa College Student Clinic and their Outreach clinic at Variety Village Sport Training and Fitness Center in Scarborough. Remedial exercise, hydrotherapy, and postural correction may form part of the care offered during a session.

Lesley’s health care philosophy is based on the belief that individuals can manage and improve their health and well being when provided with knowledge, guidance, and encouragement toward a healthier lifestyle. A person’s lifestyle habits often produce negative physical stresses which act upon the body. Massage Therapy is one way toward the path of better health. It helps ease the physical effects of, and improve ones ability to cope with, life’s stresses.

Her goal as a Massage Therapist is to help the person become aware of their body stresses, provide therapy to improve their physical well-being, while encouraging and inspiring the role the person plays in improving their current condition with the tools and knowledge for self-healing. "The healthy person has many desires, the sick has only one."

Health is after all a process, not a destination. It is ever changing, for the better or worse. Massage therapy is but one way toward the path of better health.
